Trustkill 2005

When I first laid eyes on this album, I had a great epiphany. I was pretty sure that I had just recieved psychic powers. By merely glancing at this album, I knew that it would be full of tough-guy metalcore. (Actually, the cover art and label tipped me off) I was correct, and was not disapointed. This style really does nothing for me, but it is a solid effort. I was happy that they do not heavily rely on the breakdown. They actually have a rhythmic section apart from that cliche. Also, I was pleased that they were not trying to be Unearth, and have a sound of their own.

Now, for this to be an album that I would play more, it would have to have more variety in the vocal department. The tough-guy yelling just seems stale, and uninspiring. Other than that, I find that this is a solid effort. I would just sentence the vocalist to figure out what "variety" means, and how to apply it in such a way that enhances the already solid music.
