Nightmare Records

The first thing that strikes me on this disc is the vocals. In most cases, that would be a good thing, but not on this disc. They do not seem to fit. There seems to be a strain on his voice. Yet as the album progresses, the ear grows used to this, and allows the music to speak for itself. The music is in the progressive power metal vein, with the chugging guitars and keyboards floating over the top. As I listen, the pace of the songs raises questions. As most of the songs are in the mid-paced range, I wonder if the songs would be better if they were faster. Some songs start out with a cadence that makes me believe that the song will have a thrashier edge to them, but then I am disappointed. Yet, if you are a fan of solid mid-paced power\prog, this is for you, if you can get past the vocals.
